  • The Kathmandu valley offers an excellent opportunity for easy hiking and to observe village life, plus superb mountain views without having to go too far or climb too high. Beautiful verdant hills and traditional Newari villages encircle the valley of Kathmandu. Despite the city’s urban life being just a drive away, the villages remain untouched by modernity and have retained their old world charm. We hike around hills and villages covered by terraced farms, verdant forests and shrines dedicated to Hindu & Buddhist deities. This hike is for every group and for all seasons!

    Day 01 Arrival at Kathmandu airport and transfer to Gokarna Resort by private vehicle.
    Upon your arrival after customs and immigration formalities our officer will welcome you at the airport exit with a garland of flowers and by a short drive will take you to your hotel. Upon arrival in hotel you will be offered a welcome drink and our officer will help you in checking in and brief you about your program. Gokarna Forest Resort is located inside the serene temperate Gokarna Forest, the former private Royal hunting grounds of the Kings of Nepal. A winding road climbs leads through the forest up to the main complex, comprising a mix of subtly majestic Malla period architecture, Rana period lodges, and sanctuaries harmoniously blending with nature. Further on exotic Forest View cottage rooms are set beside a century old restored Hunter’s lodge. A quiet peaceful haven set between ancient towering trees with glimpses of the second fairway in the valley below make the perfect getaway for a few days of golf, relaxation and rejuvenation at the Spa, enchanting forest walks, and time close to nature.

    Day 02 Kathmandu valley sightseeing.
    Today is dedicated to a visit of the extremely rich valley with the city of Patan south of Kathmandu, the holiest Hindu temple of Pashupatinath alongside the Bagmati river, sacred place for cremations. Then drive to Swayambhunath for a taste of Buddhism, circumambulating its huge stupa along with the fervent devotees.

    Day 03 Drive to Hatiban (1850m)
    After a delicious breakfast you will be transferred to Hatiban, just 15 kilometers drive from downtown Kathmandu. Hatiban Resort is situated on a breezy, pine-forested ridge, seemingly far removed from the hustle & bustle of the city.

    Nestled on pine-clad hills, Hatiban offers the best views of the valley below and the snow-capped mountains beyond.

    After lunch you have the choice to walk up the ridge nearby or to go for visiting the Buddhist monasteries of down Pharping. From Pharping on a short hike you might pay a visit to nearby Dakshinkali shrine.

    Day 04 Hike to Godavari (1540m)
    It is time to leave this peaceful place for another beautiful resort in the valley. You descend on foot through the pine forest to the main road and passing through typical villages you will get the opportunity to observe the valley people in their day to day life, far away from the busy capital. The hike will lead you to Godavari Village Resort, set on the banks of a lazy meandering stream, amidst a lush green terraced valley, with the magnificent backdrop of the mighty Himalayan snow clad peaks. This resort provides traditionally-designed cottages.

    Day 05 Hike to Lakhuri(2000m) 5hrs
    After breakfast the program of the day will take you through nice a pine forest and the path makes a winding climb to reach a plateau where our lodge is waiting for us.

    The lush temperate and tranquil beauty of south east Kathmandu Valley is home to Summit Village Lodge, that lies perched at Risal Danda just below Lakhuri Bhanjyang.The lodge is centered around a traditional Nepali house and overlooking a spectacular vista of the snowcapped mountains present some breathtaking views.

    Day 06 Hike to Bhaktapur 3h30
    Bhaktapur, situated 13 km east of Kathmandu, is rich in architectural beauty, filled with ancient Hindu and Buddhist religious sites, and palaces and courtyards where tourists can easily spend days absorbing the traditions and culture of the Newars.

    Bhaktapur's Durbar ('Royal') Square was added to the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 1979. Its Durbar Square is home to elaborately carved 55-window palace and the famous Golden Gate, the Big Bell as well as numerous temples. In Taumadi Square lies the 5 storey Nyatapola Temple, Nepal’s tallest pagoda temple.

    After the visit by a short drive you will reach newari town of Dhulikhel and overnight will be at Dhulikhel Mountain Resort. The resort rests on 20 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and is back-dropped by the breathtaking panorama of the Himalaya. Designed with an ethnic theme, the beautifully furbished cottages are made from red brick with thatch roofs to reflect the traditional architecture of the region.

    Day 07 Transfer to Kathmandu
    After having a delicious breakfast on the resort’s terrace facing the huge Himalaya, you will be driven to Panauti, a quaint and interesting destination of Nepal. It feels as if has been left exactly the way the founders had built the town. A nostalgic atmosphere covers the narrow town streets and ancient structures. It is known as a Newari town that is located near Roshi Khola & Punyamata Khola. After the visit you will be transferred to Gokarna Resort.

    Day 08 Free day in Kathmandu
    Today is fully free for relaxing and souvenirs shopping. Dinner included in Gokarna Resort.

    Day 09 Departure from Kathmandu
    Upon your international flight time, we will transfer you to the airport 3hrs before your departure time.
